Updating 4E Cognition
AMP Cognition
4E (embodied, embedded, extended and enactive) cognition is arguably not unified by a central theoretical commitment, yet encompasses a set of theories that argue that non-4E cognition erroneously focuses on local processes of the brain or characterizes the mind as mirroring the environment while it in fact enacts it. I have stated interpretations of 4E (sometimes 4EA, adding the affective to the mix), yet in recent years, highlighted some components beyond the 4Es that I see as central to and understanding the kinds of kinds we are.
